Overview

Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker

Location: Durham

Start Date: As soon as compliance cleared

Contract Type: 5 days per week 9:00-14:30

Salary: £13.64 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join a dynamic team working with a secondary aged student in an alternative education provision. The student requires additional support throughout their final years of study to ensure a positive and successful educational experience.

This role involves working closely with the student to provide tailored academic and emotional support, monitor their behaviour, and support their mental health and wellbeing. You will play a key role in helping the student manage their learning environment and achieve their personal and academic goals by providing structured, consistent, and empathetic guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Assist with academic tasks and support learning in various subjects
• Monitor and support the student's behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
• Support mental health and wellbeing, promoting emotional resilience and coping strategies
• Communicate with the student's teachers and other staff to ensure progress and identify any areas of concern
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment tailored to the student's needs

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience working with young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or mental health needs
• A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students
