Job description

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in South Liverpool.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support or working with small groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally in a nurturing school environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual learning styles.

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised support plans.

  • Encourage social interaction, build confidence, and promote positive behaviour.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above).

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.

  • A solid understanding of how to support the learning and development of primary‑aged children.

  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach.
