Job Description

An opportunity for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI also called VAD – Virtual Apps & Desktop Technology Specialist (h/f) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

The Airbus Helicopters Group embraces the challenges of digitalization.

Today, the Information Management (IM) directorate is contributing to its transformation, which is one of the key company objectives.

The Product Service Line "Extended Enterprise" participates actively to these challenges, providing Extended Enterprise solutions which enable Airbus Helicopters Suppliers, Partners, Customers and employees to access AH Information Systems & services from their premises, in-line with stringent commitments on service level agreements and Security company policies.

Within the "IM Infrastructures & Digital Platforms" domain, you belong to the multifunctional team of the Extended Enterprise Product Service Line. You will be welcomed in a dynamic and empowered team, where teamwork and solidarity are key values!

The VDI solution also called VAD standing for Virtual Apps & Desktop is our major technical product serving our Extended Enterprise business cases (mainly 2D use cases). The VDI solution is also at the core of the transformation of the IT environment of the Product LifeCycle Management (PLM) community answering Design Office engineers' 3D use cases (3DExperience, Catia, …) in the frame of Airbus Digital Design, Manufacturing & Services (DDMS) program.

In that business context the VDI solution being critical for AH company, we are looking for a talent profile to strengthen the team in charge of those solutions.

As the VDI Technology Specialist, you are contributing to both projects and run activities as soon as there is a need to advise and deliver VDI technology working closely with the EE solution architect and the VDI product manager.

Your challenges

You act as the VDI matter Expert and advise about the delivery of this technology and the associated use cases for both Projects & Run.

You collect, research and suggest solutions to address requirements.

You advise on the methodology and implementation approach.

You possess a deep transferable knowledge of VDI new and emerging technologies, including ability to autonomously develop POCs and contribute future IT strategies and standards.

Your key activities

• Deliver VDI/VAD solution design and support solution architects during the definition of the VDI/VAD solution to address business requirements in the frame of projects.
• Support the delivery of POC.
• Define the Airbus Helicopters VDI technological orientation axes of both infrastructure and services.
• Act as the Airbus Helicopters VDI referent taking part in Airbus Group projects or any cross divisional initiatives involving VDI technology.
• Manage and resolve the most complex technical incident on VDI/VAD serving as the ultimate escalation point and providing in-depth expertise (Marignane and Donauwort Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops solutions).
• Prove value of VDI new technologies to establish business case and to update the company guidelines and policies regarding the use of VDI technology.
• Advise on specific topics related to the VDI technology.
• Monitor VDI technology and support the teams to apply these within the Airbus Environment.
• Guide and support the selection of the appropriate VDI technologies.
• Monitor VDI technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business to enhance their competitive edge.
• Make recommendations for buy versus build decisions.
• Mentor and develop team members sharing VDI expertise and contributing to their skill development.

Your profile

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies:

• Master's degree level (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field.
• VDI/VAD & Netscaler competencies (Citrix mandatory, Omnissa Horizon is a plus) and confirmed experience in this expertise domain.
• Strong IT background (operating systems, network, cyber security) with experience of 5 to 10 years in IT operational environment ensuring the vision and the integration on the IT landscape.
• Good understanding of business requirements, customer service oriented and focus on quality deliverables.

• Partner & Subcontractor Management, stakeholders Management, Customers expectations & needs.
• Team spirit and good relationship as well as service mindedness and accountability are key values for this job position.

This role will involve some regular traveling in Europe and as such you will need to be able to travel accordingly.

This position is offered on a local contract only.
