A leading consultancy firm is seeking a Regional Technical Process Owner (rTPO) to support a multi-year digital transformation program. This role will focus on modernizing financial systems, ensuring technical consistency, and facilitating the transition to SAP S/4HANA across Europe. Ideal candidates will possess strong expertise in SAP FI processes, excellent communication skills, and an analytical mindset. The position is onsite in either Barcelona or Grenoble with a long-term contract offered.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory experience in SAP FI (Financial Accounting) is essential.
  • Proven capability in finance localization, statutory rules, tax configuration.

About The Role

Our client is a global industrial leader operating in over 100 countries, known for its advanced manufacturing footprint and commitment to driving digital innovation across its factories and supply chain. They are currently undergoing one of the most significant ERP and operational technology transformations in their industry to modernize systems, improve efficiency, and enable next-generation operations.

We are looking for Regional Technical Process Owner (rTPO) to support a major, multi-year digital transformation program modernizing core ERP, manufacturing, and operational technologies across Europe. This role is central to ensuring technical consistency, smooth deployment, and high-quality integration as the organization transitions to SAP S/4HANA and complementary Best-of-Breed (BoB) applications.

The rTPO acts as a key technical bridge between Business Process Owners, Functional Experts, and Digital implementation teams—shaping solutions, guiding deployments, and ensuring the stability of both new and legacy systems throughout the transformation journey.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as regional expert for SAP FI processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking, Tax, Closing).
  • Align local financial processes with global templates and regulatory standards.
  • Support Fit-to-Template workshops, gather requirements, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Contribute to configuration decisions for FI, tax logic, controlling interfaces, and financial reporting.
  • Validate integration with CO, MM, SD, Treasury, and external financial tools.
  • Support testing cycles (SIT/UAT), data preparation (OFI, balances, vendor/customer data), and cutover for financial processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and audit requirements.
  • Oversee financial master data migration and reconciliation efforts.
  • Train finance Key Users and support change management activities.
  • Ensure stability of legacy finance systems during transition and assist in issue resolution.

Mandatory Functional Expertise
  • SAP FI
Technical & Professional Requirements
  • Strong SAP FI experience (GL, AP/AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Tax).
  • Experience with finance localization, statutory rules, tax configuration, and closing cycles.
  • Knowledge of integration between FI-CO-MM-SD.
  • Prior involvement in S/4HANA finance deployment or migration is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of financial data migration, reconciliation, and IFRS/local GAAP requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional global teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset, documentation discipline, and problem-solving capability.
