A prominent research institute in France is seeking a researcher to support the scholarly production of data for the DEBATE database. This role includes conducting studies, preparing prosopographical records, and transcribing manuscripts from the 14th and 15th centuries. Candidates should have a PhD in medieval intellectual history and excellent knowledge of Latin palaeography. The position is full-time for three years, starting January 1, 2026, with a workload of 38.5 hours per week, based in Aubervilliers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in preparing articles for publication and drafting collective volumes.
• Solid experience with research databases for locating manuscripts.

Responsabilités

• Support and expand the scholarly production of data for the DEBATE database.
• Conduct in-depth studies and prepare prosopographical profiles.
• Transcribe Latin texts from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.

Connaissances

Excellent command of Latin palaeography

Expert knowledge of codicology

Strong computer literacy

Familiarity with medieval philosophical texts

Excellent mastery of English

Interest in digital humanities tools

Formation
