A gaming company is seeking a passionate Legal Counsel - Juriste (F/M) to handle legal matters, focusing on intellectual property, contracts, and corporate law. The role involves drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, providing legal advice on compliance and competition laws, and supporting HR. Candidates should have a Master’s in Law, fluent communication in French and English, and a minimum of 3 years' experience. This position offers a hybrid work model and a permanent contract.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a legal capacity, in-house or within a law firm, preferably in the entertainment industry.
  • Ability to provide clear, business-oriented guidance on legal matters.
  • Experience in handling corporate law events and GDPR compliance.

WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?

  • Be the go-to person when it comes to drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of agreements for all aspects of New Tales’ activity: game development and publishing agreements, license agreements, distribution agreements, agreements with employees, freelancers, merchant partners, and suppliers, NDAs, terms and conditions, etc;
  • Provide legal advice on competition, e-commerce, consumer protection, youth protection laws, including the drafting of EULAs, TOS, etc. Assess legal risk and advise on regulatory, compliance and anti-trust matters.
  • Translate Complexity into Clarity: Serve as the bridge between legal and business teams. Break down complex legal risks into clear, business-oriented guidance that empowers teams to make informed decisions.
  • Act as the go-to legal partner for HR, handling everything from hiring to offboarding, securing HR documentation, leading sensitive negotiations, and supporting strategic labor relations alongside the HR team.
  • Along with our Head of Legal and external advisor, make sure we have strong IP management procedures, including follow-up on New Tales’ trademark portfolio, and ensure the overall protection of New Tales’ IP;
  • Ensure thorough oversight of all aspects of corporate law events, including BSPCE allocations and exercises, general shareholders’ assemblies, board meetings, and cap table management;
  • In coordination with everyone, take our GDPR compliance to the next level, implementing privacy by design and improving our current processes (data treatment register, privacy policy, IT security routines).
