Qualifications

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls with minimal supervision
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
  • Diagnoses and services heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories
  • Inspects equipment and performs diagnostics to identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks
  • Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed
  • Handles delivery and removal of parts and equipment needed to complete service work
  • Records all required information on a handheld device and completes forms in a neat, timely, accurate manner; collects payment from customer
  • Maintains communication with dispatch to provide accurate status reports
  • Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Promotes products and services and communicates potential replacement leads to Sales/Service Coordinator
  • Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used and maintained
  • Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically
  • Follows standard procedures, ensures vehicle is stocked, returns defective warranty parts, and orders/replenishes as needed
  • Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned
Health & Safety
  • Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to supervisor immediately
  • Maintains appropriate PPE as prescribed
  • Complies with company safety rules and procedures
  • Operates devices and equipment as prescribed
  • Participates in safety initiatives and reports injuries or incidents promptly
  • Works in compliance with applicable laws and avoids risky behavior
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with 5+ years’ HVAC experience and technical training certification
  • Valid licensing or certification as required for the work area; EPA and safety certifications
  • Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and related equipment
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment
  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
  • Ability to start up and balance airflow, align belts and pulleys, and install basic duct fittings
  • Experience with electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, boilers, humidifiers, and related equipment
  • Effective communication, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Flexible hours and on-call availability as needed
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, access attics/basements/crawl spaces, and lift up to 75 pounds
  • Vision requirements for near/far/across tasks with normal depth perception
