E-Commerce Operations and Data Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and pro-active remote E-Commerce Operations and Data Specialist to join our client’s team. Our client is a family of leading brands and businesses that design, manufacture, market, and distribute furniture, equipment and supplies to professional customers serving the tattoo, pet grooming and spa/salon market
This role is the engine room of our digital storefront, owning the day-to-day setup and technical maintenance of products across our e-commerce platforms. This is a high-accuracy, 70% technical operations role focused on ensuring our product catalog is architected correctly, launched cleanly, and optimized for data integrity. You will work closely with merchandising, brand, and development teams to keep the catalogue commercially sound and technically accurate.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL PRODUCT AND CATALOG MANAGEMENT (70% Focus)
- Data Architecture: Create and maintain complex product records, ensuring all attributes, names, and descriptions are mapped accurately.
- Hierarchy & Navigation: Dispatch products into new and existing categories, ensuring correct site hierarchy and intuitive navigation.
- Bulk Data Operations: Use Excel or Google Sheets for heavy data manipulation, including VLOOKUPs, formatting, and bulk uploads to the CMS.
- Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous QA on product pages before launch to eliminate formatting errors, gaps, or broken links.
- Platform Maintenance: Maintain consistent naming conventions and content standards across the site to ensure data uniformity.
CONTENT AND SITE PERFORMANCE (30% Focus)- Visual Merchandising: Coordinate product images, ensuring correct file naming, display order, and SEO-friendly attributes.
- UX Optimization: Maintain category and collection structures in line with UX and SEO best practices to improve product discoverability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing teams to implement SEO-friendly product descriptions where required.
WEBSITE SUPPORT AND BUG TRIAGE- Issue Resolution: Identify and triage website bugs, content issues, and technical errors as they arise.
- Stakeholder Management: Log issues with the appropriate teams (development or third parties) and communicate fix timelines (ETAs) to stakeholders.
- Validation: Validate fixes once deployed to ensure all technical issues are fully resolved.
Requirements
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of proven experience working in an e-commerce capacity or related role.
- Experience in multi-entity retail and distribution business a big plus
- TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS:
- Platform Expertise: Proven experience working with Magento (2.x preferred) or Shopify.
- Data Proficiency: Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills; you must be comfortable handling large datasets and using formulas (VLOOKUPs) to manage bulk edits.
- Analytical Mindset: Hands-on experience using Google Analytics to monitor site performance.
- Detail Obsession: A "non-negotiable" commitment to accuracy; you are someone who catches the small errors others miss.
- Organization: The ability to manage multiple SKUs and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment without performance slippingDemonstrated ability to organize and manage changing priorities effectively.
- Exceptional English oral and written communication skills.Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (aka NICE TO HAVE):
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices for product and category pages.
- Familiarity with bulk imports, attribute sets, and category logic.
- Has experience with large-volume SKUs
- REQUIREMENTS FOR REMOTE WORK:
- Eligible to legally work as a remote freelancer or contractor based in the Philippines
- Has own computer or laptop capable of handling the demands of big data and financial, number crunching.
- Has a fast and reliable internet connection at home (at least 100-200 MBPS)
- Has a quiet and distraction free work environment at home.
- Willing to work in graveyard shifts or changing shift schedules.
- Must be able to maintain consistent availability during US and UK hours
HOURS OF WORK- Semi-Flex Time
- 4 hours per workday at 9:00AM to 1:00PM UK time (Mon - Fri)
- Rest of 4 hours, flexible
- 8 hours minimum per work day
- with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
- No OT unless pre-approved by Client
- UK Holidays are off and unpaid during the evaluation period
- PH Holidays are normal working days during the evaluation period
- COMPENSATION: $9 to $10 Per hour.
- CONTRACT: T his is a 3-month long freelancing trial contract (full-time) that can be done remotely at home with a computer and a fast and reliable internet connection. There are no benefits for Freelancers during the evaluation period.
- POSSIBLE RENEWAL: However, if the Client decides to renew the contract there may be certain benefits such as paid sick leaves, paid vacation leaves, HMO health insurance and 13th month pay. These are not guaranteed and everything will depend on performance and client discretion.
- REPORTING TO: Although you will be reporting directly to the designated manager from our client, you will also be reporting to and will be supervised by Big Ideas Social Media Inc, who is the consultant and service provider (Agency) of the US business. Big Ideas will be the ones to provide your compensation and other HR and administrative needs locally.
- LEGAL STATUS: You will be classified as “Self-Employed” when it concerns legality and taxation. You will not be considered an employee of our Client or Big Ideas Philippines but instead, you will be a self-employed freelance professional.
