Description du poste
Description

At Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to build a better food system by growing food where people live and growing it responsibly. This led us to build the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse in 2011 and the world’s largest less than a decade later. To support our six high-tech urban farms in Montreal, which range in production from greens to vining crops, we’re looking for a Crop Manager to oversee all cultivation and operations activities at one or more of these facilities (dependent on candidate experience and current operational needs) to achieve maximum potential production and efficiency.

The Crop Production Manager is responsible for managing the budget and all cultivation activities at a given site, establishing robust processes for the following with the support of technical advisors and the greenhouse operations team: climate, irrigation, and nutrient management; biological pest control; crop planning and crop work strategies; yield and quality; training and development of the team; research and development; budget planning and operational cost reductions.

Our ideal candidate is motivated to help change the way cities eat one rooftop greenhouse at a time and is incredibly organized, caring, and hardworking. They apply first principles thinking and data-driven decision-making to everything they do, seek operational excellence and continuous improvement, and can effectively collaborate with various teams. We’re looking for candidates with commercial greenhouse or other agricultural production experience with a horticulture, engineering, or other relevant scientific background.
