An international Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider is looking for a Business Developer to support the growth. This company offers payment and embedded finance solutions to fintechs, financial institutions, and businesses looking to integrate financial services into their user journey. They are a licensed e-money institution regulated by the FCA in the UK and the National Bank of Belgium in Europe, and a principal member of Mastercard.
This role sits within the commercial team and reports directly to the Head of Sales. The main focus will be on acquiring new clients and driving commercial growth through a full sales cycle approach.
Responsibilities :
New Business Development :
Identify and qualify new sales opportunities in the European market (fintechs, banks, insurers, retailers, e-commerce platforms, etc.)
Build and execute outreach strategies through cold calling, email, networking, and event participation
Understand prospective clients’ business models and challenges to position tailored BaaS solutions
Present the company’s value proposition to prospects and lead product demos
Develop competitive and customised commercial proposals
Negotiate and close deals, managing the contract finalisation process
Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and reporting in the CRM
Be the main point of contact for clients during onboarding and beyond
Market Analysis & Feedback :
Stay up to date on fintech trends, market shifts, and competitor activity
Identify and suggest new market opportunities and strategic growth areas
Share market insights with internal product and commercial teams
Cross-functional Collaboration :
Work closely with Product, Technical, Legal, and Marketing teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success
Support creation of sales and marketing materials
Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes
Requirements
The ideal candidate has a commercial background with at least 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within financial services, fintech, or SaaS. Experience selling BaaS solutions is a strong plus.
Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)
Proven experience working at or with a BaaS provider
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the payments space
Solid experience in prospecting, negotiating, and closing complex sales cycles
Ability to explain technical products (such as APIs) clearly and concisely
Familiarity with virtual card products (VCNs)
Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter, and results-oriented
Team player with a collaborative approach
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with clients
