We are a Barcelona-based startup dedicated to developing devices to treat androgenetic alopecia through photobiomodulation. Our mission is to offer patients real treatment alternatives so this condition doesn’t limit their daily lives.

We are looking to hire a Technical Director to lead our entire technology strategy (from design through market launch), with immediate responsibility for the industrialization of our family of laser-based medical devices.

If you’re motivated by developing and manufacturing medical technology and making a positive impact on patients’ lives, this challenge is for you. You will also have the support of our current Technical Director, who has 30 years of experience in laser devices and will mentor you until his retirement.

1. YOUR MISSION
You will be responsible for leading the full technical product lifecycle, ensuring our devices meet the highest quality and safety standards, coordinating both an internal team of 2 people and our external partners.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute the product technology strategy.
  • Lead the development and industrialization of the laser-based medical devices.
  • Ensure proper implementation of regulatory requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate with the Regulatory Lead to ensure compliance with the MDR and harmonized standards.
  • Review and oversee manufacturing, validation, testing, quality control, and product release processes.
  • Oversee manufacturers, subcontractors, and critical suppliers.
  • Manage technical issues and drive continuous improvement of the system (optics, electronics, firmware, usability, etc.)
  • Actively contribute to the design of new solutions and product evolutions.
    Build, structure, and lead the technical team.
  • Report technical progress, risks, and planning to management.

3. PROFILE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have requirements

  • University degree in Biomedical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, Optical Engineering, or similar.
  • 7+ years of experience in cosmetic or medical product development.
  • Experience leading (or managing at a senior level) industrialization and scale-up to manufacturing.
  • Experience managing technical teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, and lead.
  • High level of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with laser technology, medical optics, or complex electro-medical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of the MDR and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with Class IIa medical devices or higher.
  • Ability to define, implement, and oversee regulatory requirements throughout design and industrialization.
  • Experience managing outsourced manufacturing.
