The Digitalization team is part of the ArcelorMittal R&D Spain Lab, and it provides worldwide service within the ArcelorMittal Group. We are a team of more than 70 researchers working on Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence applied to a wide range of activities (manufacturing, product development, environmental, decarbonization, supply chain, commercial, planning & scheduling, etc.). This multidisciplinary team covers a wide variety of scientific and business areas with highly qualified researchers (engineers, mathematicians, physicists, etc.), all of them with deep expertise in combining Science and Business know‑how. Responsibilities

We are seeking an exceptional AI Research Scientist to join our team and drive innovation at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, and Deep Learning. This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background, holding a master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, and a passion for exploring the frontiers of artificial intelligence. You’ll work on cutting‑edge projects involving Large Language Models (LLMs) and image generative systems. Your expertise in Python and modern AI/ML libraries will be essential as you design, train, and deploy scalable models that solve real‑world challenges.

We value hands‑on experience with large-scale data workflows, including preprocessing, augmentation, and labeling, as well as familiarity with MLOps tools and practices for deploying and monitoring AI solutions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to research initiatives, and stay ahead of the curve by continuously evaluating emerging technologies and assessing their relevance to our roadmap. Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
• Solid academic foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence
• Proven knowledge in Natural Language Processing techniques, Transformers, Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Bard or LLaMA, Image generative AI systems such as DALL‑E, Stable Diffusion or MidJourney
• Proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML libraries
• Experience with large-scale data preprocessing, augmentation, and labeling
• Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices for deployment and monitoring of AI solutions is a plus
• Ability to stay current with state‑of‑the‑art AI technologies and evaluate their relevance
• Proficiency in English is mandatory and good level or willingness to learn Spanish is desired
