A leading technology distributor is seeking a professional for their Import/Export team in Barcelona. This role involves ensuring compliance with customs regulations, preparing necessary documentation, and processing transactions for import and export activities across EMEA. To be the main contact primarily responsible for processing throughout EMEA on a daily basis.- Perform technical compliance review of all export transactions including export license determination based on the export control classification of the products.- Perform denied party screening on export orders, new domestic and export customers.- Screening of notified parties against Denied Party lists as directed by Regulatory Compliance including decision making and recording of the information found.- Request export control classification of products from vendors and also closely works with the Classification team on product classification in ERP systems.- Preparation of documents to ensure efficient, effective and compliant export shipments in alignment with Tech Data Export Control Compliance Procedure: Prepare all export documentation required, including proper commercial invoices, packing lists, and requesting any additional documents that may be required (Certificate of Origin).- Ensure accurate Incoterms are used on the commercial invoices, as well as correct pricing, origins and HTS codes.- Issue instructions for export clearance declarations for Customs to agents/carriers.- Obtain, check, and retain all relevant documentation to establish necessary export records to meet regulatory obligations including:- Filing of the commercial invoices, together with all license & carrier shipping paperwork as proof of export.- Validating and filing the export Customs documentation established by carriers/agents.- Recording and data entry of all Export/Import transactions.- Deal with all relevant export related correspondence, in a timely and compliant way.- Preparation of documents to ensure efficient, effective, economic, and compliant Import customs declarations are submitted according to Tech Data Import Control Compliance Procedure:- Create and issue authorization and instructions for all carrier/agent import Customs clearance requests. Update Imports database with all relevant Customs Declaration shipment information.- Ensure all Customs agents are properly authorised and retain signed copies of Regulatory Compliance SOP from all agents.- Track missing shipments to ensure completeness.- Deal with all relevant import related correspondence in a timely and compliant way. Liaise with Procurement regarding urgent Purchase Orders.- Verify Customs Entry value, commodity code, import duty and VAT paid on Import Entry as well as make sure all commercial invoices, CMR's, Customs Docs etc. have been received for each shipment.- Obtain, check, and retain all relevant documents to establish necessary import records to meet regulatory obligations- Monitor import duty accounting process; reconciliation of periodic statements; monitoring duty deferment account balance and timely notification if insufficient or excessive.- Ensure Tech Data import and export Procedure is followed at all times. Keep up to date with changes in import and export requirements throughout EMEA, to ensure Tech Data is not at risk.- Provide regularly checks and maintenance of Regulatory Compliance reports and databases.- Participate on Regulatory Compliance internal audits.- Run reports or extract data of Suppliers and Customers for further analyse.- Train and manage onboarding of new employees in focus of their successful inclusion into Regulatory Compliance team.- Train and support contractors (Temporary workers), monitor their performance, recommend improvements, follow up actions in focus of higher efficiency.- Support co-workers on lower level of expertise including their successional development plan.- Support higher level management with local team.- Participate on projects and any exceptional processes.- Continuous improvements in focus on higher Regulatory Compliance team and processes effectiveness.**Key Information relating to the Role**Continued Development:Working Hours:- Different shifts or weekend/bank holiday working may also be required on occasion.- No direct reports but works as part of a European team located locally and remotely.**Knowledge, Skills and E
