Important multinational company is looking for a Head of Finance Iberia/Latam
The Head of Finance IBERIA/LATAM is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial, legal, and administrative aspects of the region's operations. This position ensures compliance with international and local regulations, supports business decision‑making through financial insights, and maintains robust control systems. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and global service centers to ensure seamless financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
Ensures all accounting activities are compliant with both group and local requirements. Transactional accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Credit Management are executed by a Global Business Center or local external accounting firms.
- Remains accountable for the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Oversees coordination with local tax advisors for tax compliance and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Manages VAT and other tax obligations, customs, payment runs, dunning processes, and valuation rules.
- Maintains a robust internal control system and manages tax audits.
- Ensures accurate internal and external reporting in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.
- Liaison with central accounting, audit departments, and local auditors.
Controlling
- Acts as a strategic partner to business leaders, supporting decision‑making through financial insights.
- Monitors forecasts, budgets, and mid‑term plans.
- Conducts regular reviews with local and regional management and performs impairment tests.
- Defines and implements KPIs to track performance.
- Leads cost control initiatives and cost reduction projects.
- Manages asset inventories and ensures accurate reporting to external organizations such as statistical agencies.
Company Law
- Ensures all legal and contractual obligations of the entity are met.
- Manages legal setup and administration, including bylaws and shareholder meetings.
- Upholds the four‑eyes principle.
- Handles legal cases in collaboration with corporate legal and local lawyers.
- Maintains general terms and conditions and oversees contract management.
Risk Management
- Defines and communicates risk policies and processes, covering market, credit, and operational risks.
- Implements and monitors internal control systems.
- Manages insurance according to group guidelines and participates in claim management.
- Conducts risk assessments, evaluations, and reporting.
- Defines and tracks mitigation actions.
IT
- Oversees execution, implementation, and maintenance of finance‑related IT systems in alignment with central rules and guidelines.
- Manages finance applications and tools.
- Defines and maintains user authorizations.
- Serves as the interface to Corporate IT.
- Supports and manages centrally defined IT implementations in the region.
General Administration
- Implements and monitors the approval matrix and the IBERIA/LATAM Authorization Framework.
- Defines and implements specific local rules and guidelines to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary package: 65.000 - 70.000 euros fixed salary + bonus.
