The role is a Global Catalyst for a Head of Engineering position at a Medical / Health Startup.

The company is a healthcare organization aiming to improve the field by leveraging technology to enhance the human condition, not replace artists and creatives.

The role involves working directly with the CTO and CEO.

Responsibilities include:

1. Technical Leadership: Own the end-to-end architecture and design of the platform across all engineering domains (backend, orchestration, infrastructure, and AI).
2. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team, promoting best practices and DevOps excellence.
3. Architecture and Scalability: Design systems focused on scalability, modularity, performance, and clinical safety.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, clinical, and compliance teams to ensure secure, regulated, and privacy-preserving solutions (GDPR, HIPAA, MDR).
5. Platform Evolution: Lead decisions on multi-cloud architecture, data privacy, AI pipeline evolution, and integration with EHRs and third-party models.
6. Risk & Security Management: Identify technical risks and establish mitigation strategies, especially concerning patient safety and AI reliability.

Qualifications include:

1. Engineering from a premier institute is essential.
2. Proven expertise in building scalable AI / ML platforms and orchestrating multi-agent LLM systems.
3. Experience in regulated industries (healthtech preferred).
4. Deep fluency in cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), CI / CD, and security best practices.
5. Passion for mentoring engineers and scaling teams.
6. Bonus: Experience with synthetic data, LLM prompt engineering, or medical device software regulations.

Compensation will be a mix of Fixed & Equity.
