A renewable energy company located in Madrid is seeking an Onshore Wind Troubleshooter/Service Technician for a 1-year contract. Formación

  • Technical qualification in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
  • Valid GWO certifications (BST, BTT, or equivalent).

Job Overview

The Onshore Wind Troubleshooter / Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of onshore wind turbines to ensure optimal performance, safety, and availability. This role involves advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, supporting both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, and minimizing turbine downtime.

Duration

1 year contract (with high likelihood of extension)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance on onshore wind turbines
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system faults
  • Execute preventive and scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with OEM guidelines
  • Read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide technical feedback to engineering and operations teams
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, site procedures, and industry standards
  • Accurately document service activities, fault reports, and work orders
  • Support commissioning, retrofits, and major component replacements as required
  • Assist in mentoring junior technicians when necessary
Skills & Qualifications
Required
  • Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or Troubleshooter (onshore)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Experience working with SCADA systems and fault diagnostics
  • Valid GWO certifications (BST, BTT, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work at heights and in remote locations
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements in wind operations
Preferred
  • High‑voltage switching authorization
  • Experience with major component exchanges (gearbox, generator, blades)
  • Additional electrical certifications or trade licenses
