A leading automotive solutions provider in Barcelona is seeking an Engineering & Development Project Leader. You will ensure the design and industrialization of automotive components while managing cross-functional teams and customer interactions. Missions
  • Ensures the product design and product industrialisation including associated tools (moulds, checking fixtures, validation equipment, etc.) within the QCT requirements (non‑event launches, robust manufacturing)
  • Ensures cross functional management of the extended team
Activities
  • Works according to HSE requirements
  • Can be involved in upstream phases of the project (expertise phase, acquisition phase)
  • Analyses Customer Needs and Draw‑up PO Specifications
  • Defines the concepts of the product design to meet customers specifications and GD&T and ensure that the Plastic Omnium standard conception rules are respected
  • Ensures that the design for manufacturing (assembly, paint, plant & packaging) are fulfilled
  • Is the main technical contact with the customer during the design & tuning phases
  • Is responsible for providing functional specifications for baby parts
  • Manages and performs risk analysis (DFMEA + Design reviews)
  • Manages Specifications, manufacturing and validation of the means (injection tools, checking fixtures, test jigs, End Of Arm Tooling)
  • Manages Product validation (functional, geometry and cosmetic quality)
  • Manages Product tuning (mould tuning, checking fixture tuning)
Project Management
  • Defines initial Statement of Work of product engineering perimeter including extended team, regarding project perimeter, development budget (hours, hourly rate, travel cost) and Optimap Work Packages
  • Defines and sets up the engineering project planning
  • Manages the engineering project reviews, consolidates actions and provides reporting and action plans
  • Participates to QUAD (product & process feasibility milestones) reviews
  • Tracks perimeter changes and reports to the PM
  • Proposes adjustments and modifications linked to perimeter evolution during project life time
  • Participates in Launch Readiness process
Budget Management
  • Ensures product PRU commitment for the design relevant criteria
  • Determines the project provisional budget (hours and cost)
  • Allocates the budget to his extended team & guarantees resource availability with the manager
  • Determines internal and external perimeter regarding SOW,
  • Tracks perimeter changes due to customer or internal ones and reports to the PM. Proposes adjustments and modifications linked to perimeter evolution during project life time,
  • Insures the follow up of project budget and releases warnings to PM and métiers managers in case of gaps.
  • Contributes to investment optimisation through part design
  • Participates to capitalization and to productivity actions
  • At the end of the project, participates to the closure of project and gives feedback regarding best practices and difficulties

Depending on the project size, he/she can also handle some activities of the extended team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s with experience or Master’s degree.
  • Design and/or development of plastic parts for automotive industry
  • Project management skills
    Leadership, able to make clear synthesis, organised, rigorous, good communication
