YOUR MISSION

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Accounting team in Barcelona to undertake the month-end closing process, meet reporting deadlines, and ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies and applicable standards. You will work closely with local, regional, and HQ finance teams to manage financial processes, prepare reports, and contribute to our organization’s success.

THE JOURNEY

• Lead and complete the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain paperwork for monthly accruals as part of financial reporting.
• Maintain the company’s accounting books according to statutory regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Review income statements and balance sheet discrepancies, escalating if necessary.
• Conduct regular audits of all accounting ledgers.
• Control and confirm all invoices received and issued through the invoicing platform.
• Ensure all accounting policies and procedures align with legislation.
• Comply with GAAP/IFRS during month-end closing.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives for financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support your team’s growth.
• Work closely with the local finance team on various projects.
• Support the Head of Finance with related topics.
• Adapt quickly to policy, tax, and legislative changes.
• Verify original documents (contracts, VAT declarations, etc.) for company interests.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields; CPA is a plus.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting within multinational companies.
• Experience with general ledger functions and closing processes.
• Willingness to learn local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Availability to travel as needed.
• Experience with Navision/Business Central/SAP or similar systems, and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Fluent in English; high proficiency in French is required.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good organization and planning skills.
