GDIT has an exciting opportunity to support the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The System Administrator (Mobility Ops) ensures secure provisioning, compliance, and oversight of mobile devices across mission and enterprise enclaves. As a key member the J6 Operations Division (J63), this role is responsible for implementing DoD mobility guidance, applying security baselines, and supporting secure mobility initiatives including device issuance, tracking, remote administration, and managing supporting infrastructure like Element Server and other mobile applications.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Systems Administrator (Mobility Ops) at GDIT, you will be responsible for both the administration of the SAGNet enterprise environment and the management of a robust, mission‑critical mobility program.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Administer and maintain the SAGNet Windows Server environment, including Active Directory (user/group management, GPO), DNS, and other core enterprise services.
  • Manage server health, performance monitoring, patching, and security compliance for physical and virtual servers.
  • Install, configure, and manage on‑premise applications and services, such as the Element Server, ensuring availability and security.
  • Contribute to the build‑out and evolution of the SAGNet environment, assisting with the deployment of new services and infrastructure as the mission develops.
  • Administer the MDM platform (IBM MaaS360) to enforce security policies, monitor compliance, and manage the lifecycle of all mobile devices.
  • Provision and configure smartphones, tablets, and secure communications hardware (e.g., Hypori) in accordance with mission requirements.
  • Apply DISA STIGs and DoD security controls to all mobile platforms (Android/iOS) and associated services.
  • Collaborate with the TCO (Telephone Control Officer) and ISSM/ISSO to ensure the accountability and security posture of all mobile endpoints.
  • Maintain device inventories and policy documentation in coordination with the IT Asset Management team and provide Tier 2/3 support for mobile‑related issues.
  • Support patching, firmware updates, and remote lock/wipe operations.
  • Respond to user issues and support service desk staff in mobile‑related troubleshooting.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of experience, Associate’s with 4 years, or Bachelor’s with 2 years of experience in mobility, systems administration, or endpoint security.
  • Experience: 2+ years managing MDM platforms, specifically IBM MaaS360, and administering supporting mobile service platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory services (GPO, Users & Computers); experience managing core services like DNS, DHCP, and file shares; familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V). Demonstrated experience managing an MDM platform (IBM MaaS360 preferred). Experience administering mobile services like Element Server or virtual mobility platforms like Hypori. Deep understanding of DoD mobile security (STIGs) and best practices for Android and iOS. Understanding of wireless technologies, mobile authentication, and VPN access.
  • Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
  • ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work closely with telecom, cybersecurity, and service desk personnel; strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inventories and compliance documentation; experience managing mobile platforms and applications across multiple enclaves; willingness to support a dynamic mission environment and respond to priority needs.
  • CERTIFICATIONS: Required: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE); Preferred: Mobile Security or Endpoint Security certifications.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with DISA MDM requirements and Army Mobility Strategy; experience with IBM MaaS360 and Hypori implementations in secure or tactical environments; ability to draft SOPs and contribute to user training for mobile device use; experience supporting cloud‑based mobility service integrations in DoD or secure environments.
