A global logistics and shipping company in Hamburg seeks a SPOT ON Trade Manager to lead digital sales strategies and manage pricing policies. With a focus on maximizing vessel utilization and enhancing commercial success, candidates should have a Master's degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience. This role offers a dynamic office environment and opportunities for career growth.
Led by Chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saadé, the CMA CGM Group is a world leader in shipping and logistics, serving more than 420 ports across five continents. From ocean freight to air cargo, from inland transport to integrated logistics, we deliver global trade solutions that are as innovative as they are efficient. With more than 155,000 employees in over 160 countries, we are shaping the future of maritime transport — and committed to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050.
Containerships, as the Short Sea Lines arm of CMA CGM, is headquartered in the vibrant port city of Hamburg, the gateway to global commerce. Here, decisions made in our head office ripple across Europe’s trade corridors — and this is where you come in.
Your Mission: Drive the Digital Pulse of the Trade:
As SPOT ON Trade Manager for our Intra North Europe services, you will be the architect of short-term commercial success. This is not a back-office role — it’s the front line of decision-making, where your market insight, pricing expertise, and digital know-how will translate directly into profitable voyages.
You will lead the commercial development of SPOT ON — our digital sales channel — ensuring that every quotation maximizes vessel utilization, boosts contribution margins, and strengthens our competitive position. This means balancing the agility of short-term pricing with the discipline of long-term profitability, in close collaboration with Trade Managers, the Cargo Flow team, and our agency network.
This is an opportunity to join the beating heart of CMA CGM’s European short sea operations — where commercial strategy meets real-time execution, and your decisions are visible from the quayside to the boardroom.
You will gain direct exposure to high-level decision-making, work in a collaborative head office environment, and play a pivotal role in shaping the success of one of the most dynamic trade lanes in the CMA CGM network.
In Hamburg, you’ll be at the centre of the action — with the scope, autonomy, and support to make a measurable impact. If you are ready to combine commercial strategy with digital innovation, and want to see your work directly influence the performance of our fleet, this is the role where it all comes together.
