Senior Software Engineer – Audio AI Research (m/f/d) @ audEERING GmbH

Location: Munich or Berlin. This role is based at audEERING GmbH.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Software Engineer for our Audio AI Research team to drive the development and innovation of speech and language technologies and create interactive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Build high quality software code for a data pipeline to curate and generate high-quality synthetic and mixed multi-modal data for AI training.
• Develop real‑time, low‑latency media streaming software solutions for distributed client/server applications for voice interaction and speech and audio processing.
• Contribute to the development of tools and infrastructure for efficient evaluation and benchmarking of AI models.
• Design and implement systems to reduce latency in real‑time applications, including optimizing inference speed of AI models and parallelizing data flow.
• Work effectively in a fast‑evolving, dynamic environment and deliver on time.
• Collaborate with teammates as an excellent team player, problem solver, and goal achiever.

Qualifications

• Very strong proficiency in Python.
• Basic knowledge of C/C++.
• Strong proficiency in building (web‑RTC) apps or systems.
• Experience in reducing latency in real‑time systems (e.g., optimizing inference speed, data flow).
• Experience with AI model evaluation, benchmarking.

Beneficial Skills

• Experience in PyTorch, transformer models and other neural network architectures.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools.
• Experience with parallel computing on compute clusters or major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle).
• Contributions to open‑source projects.
• Experience with audio and speech generation (synthesis) and transformation (voice conversion, translation).
• Background in psychology or linguistics.
