We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated (Senior) Principal Scientist to join our High-Throughput Biology team in Biberach. You will be part of a world-class research organization that is shaping the future of drug discovery. Tasks & Responsibilities

• Lead a laboratory focused on in vitro GPCR pharmacology, providing both scientific and strategic guidance to contribute to the discovery of innovative therapeutics.
• Design, develop and implement robust cell‑based assays for diverse target classes to enable hit‑finding, compound optimization and mechanism‑of‑action studies, utilizing a wide range of assay technologies.
• Investigate target‑drug interactions to address related molecular pharmacology questions.
• Represent HTB in cross‑disciplinary project teams and actively drive the scientific and technological advancement in the field.

Additional Responsibilities For The Principal Scientist Role

• As a DDS Lead, collaborate constructively with partners in DDS, Medicinal Chemistry, Structural Research and Therapeutic Areas to identify most relevant scientific demands, set priorities in accordance with the project strategy and develop hit‑finding strategies to initiate jointly the drug discovery phase.
• Provide mentorship to team members and PhD and/or PostDoc students, fostering their development while prioritizing workloads in alignment with the objectives of the global HTB team.
• Act as a discipline representative, driving scientific excellence and fostering strong collaborations across key partner functions and with CROs.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology or related field with longstanding experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Proven expertise in GPCR pharmacology; additional experience in molecular pharmacology is highly advantageous.
• Initial leadership experience and the ability to manage and develop scientific talents.
• Hands‑on experience with general molecular biology techniques including mammalian cell culture and transfection is desirable.
• Proficiency in cellular assay development, high‑throughput screening and automation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, as well as good German.

Additional requirements for the Principal Scientist role

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology or related field with longstanding experience, preferably in an industrial setting and research project leadership experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage and develop scientific talents.
