Role Description

Westcon-Comstor is undergoing transformation and growth. The People function is being evolved to be more efficient, commercially focused, data-driven and digitally led, delivering business value through people. The job holder will join a People Team that is building capability to support the organisation’s growth, reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO).

The role involves strategic partnership with senior leaders and the leadership team to elevate HR’s contribution across Europe, with potential global accountabilities over time. The environment is international, fast-paced, and values forward thinking, with a focus on trust, accountability and high performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Business Partnering – act as trusted People Business Partner & coach to ELT members (current: EVP Europe and EVP Corporate Development); co-create and deliver regional/functional People plans; input into global People Strategy; provide HR thought leadership with a data-led approach; oversee cyclical People processes (e.g., Annual Compensation Reviews, Performance Management, Talent Management).
  • Regional HR Delivery – ensure effective operational HR delivery across Europe (DACH ownership direct); handle Employee Relations, Reward, cyclical HR processes, Culture/Engagement/L&D/DEI, HR Services, regulatory/legal compliance; manage external partners as needed.
  • People Leadership – lead a regional/local HR team across Europe; develop HR capabilities within the team; foster a high-performance, trustworthy culture.
  • Capability Building – drive transformation of the People Team into a Strategic and Business Integrated function; lead change management and engagement with managers and colleagues.

  • Technical – commercial, data-savvy strategic People Partner; experience translating business strategy into people plans; evidence of driving HR/business impact; strong experience in Europe with works council/union contexts.
  • Professional – proven people leadership; capability building; change management; ability to simplify complexity and tell data-driven stories; collaboration across stakeholders; experience in global, multicultural, matrixed organisations.
  • Personal – pragmatic, can-do, strategic yet hands-on; strong communication and influencing skills; curiosity; values-driven; ability to adapt style to different audiences.
