The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Senior Strategy & M&A professional to join its Hamburg‑based corporate development function. This role will play a central part in shaping and executing the company’s inorganic growth agenda, with ownership across the full transaction lifecycle and close interaction with senior leadership.

The position sits at the intersection of strategy, transaction execution, and post‑deal value creation, offering exposure to complex, cross‑border transactions in scientifically sophisticated and technology‑led environments. It is well suited to a commercially minded, hands‑on M&A professional who thrives in lean, high‑accountability settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end M&A execution, from target identification and initial engagement through diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing
• Drive strategic and commercial assessment of acquisition and partnership opportunities, including evaluation of scientific depth, technology differentiation, scalability, and long‑term value creation
• Build and review financial and valuation models, including DCF, scenario analyses, and synergy cases
• Prepare and present investment memoranda, executive briefings, and Board‑level materials
• Coordinate cross‑functional diligence workstreams across finance, legal, R&D, technology, operations, and regulatory functions
• Support negotiation of transaction structures and key commercial terms, working closely with legal counsel and senior management
• Act as a key interface with founders, management teams, and external advisors, guiding transactions with professionalism and credibility
• Support post‑merger integration planning and execution, ensuring strategic alignment and value realisation
• Contribute to broader corporate strategy initiatives, including portfolio reviews, market mapping, and long‑term growth planning

Candidate Profile

• 7–10+ years of experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or strategy consulting
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex M&A processes in cross‑border, multi‑stakeholder environments
• Strong financial modelling and valuation expertise
• Prior exposure to life sciences, healthcare, technology, or regulated industries is highly advantageous
• Commercial mindset with strong analytical and strategic judgement
• Confident communicator able to engage credibly with senior executives and boards
• Highly autonomous, execution‑focused, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Fluent in German and English;
