Senior Manager, Accounting EMEA
Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive Sr. Manager, Accounting to oversee accounting operations across multiple entities in Europe, with initial focus on Germany and Hungary. The key purpose of the role is to lead and optimize accounting operations, compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring strong execution under corporate governance while partnering closely with tax, treasury, FP&A, and shared service teams.

This role will directly manage a small but talented team in each location, with strong support provided by Finance Shared Service and corporate tax team. Several smaller entities (France, Italy, Sweden) are handled by external accountants, but you will be responsible for their oversight and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all accounting activities for multiple European entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and US GAAP standards
  • Manage closing activities, disclosure checklists, and annual report coordination
  • Drive process optimization, automation, and synergies across all entities, identifying and implementing best practices
  • Responsible for treasury and liquidity management, ensuring effective cash flow and financial controls
  • Ensure financial compliance across all entities, including internal and external reporting requirements
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements in SAP and finance automation initiatives
  • Oversee and support external accountants in UK, Italy, and Sweden, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with the FP&A team and Shared Service Center to support business objectives and financial planning
  • Build strong relationships with accounting, treasury, and tax teams at the corporate headquarters in the US
  • Actively participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage account reconciliations
  • Own Accounts Receivable metrics across the region, collaborating with the Commercial team and customers to develop mutually beneficial payment terms and solutions
Critical Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA or Master’s in Accounting preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in an international environment. Experience in audit firm a strong plus
  • Expert knowledge of SAP FI/CO required; Hyperion reporting experience highly desirable
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, automation and driving synergies
  • Fluent in English and German
