All about the role

As a developer in the Scoober Apps team, you will be exposed to several business and technical challenges.

You would help us with building new services as well as improvement and maintenance of existing ones. You need to understand the complexity of our product and systems and bring new perspectives and insights when improving or adding new features.

In order to achieve our goals, you will need to implement code that follows good design and architecture practices, especially the ones related to Clean Code, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, Event-Driven (EDA), Domain Driven Design, and Microservices.

We are a cross-functional distributed team that follows the SCRUM framework. Diversity is at our core; we are from different nationalities, genders, and ethnicities, which keeps us vibrant and creative.

All the team roles (backend, mobile, design, QA…) work together very closely. Before acting on the tickets, we discuss aspects and the feasibility of brand new features and / or intended changes during the dedicated SCRUM ceremonies.

In the backend, we believe in good communication and transparency. We have alignment meetings every week to discuss the current and future work as well as ideas for tech initiatives.

We do pair programming and knowledge sharing sessions, and we make decisions as a team.

What will you bring to the table?

• Strong experience with both Java and Kotlin technologies
• Knowledge of Spring / Quarkus framework (both are a plus)
• NoSQL and SQL database experience
• Ability to work with Kafka (and / or messaging / streaming brokers in general)
• Responsiblity for working across CI / CD pipelines
• Good knowledge of Git
• Test automation skills
• Logging and monitoring production services
