A global renewable energy leader is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to deliver innovative battery energy storage solutions. You will act as a technical liaison, manage project requirements, and collaborate with various teams to ensure project success. Wondering what your day-to-day could look like as our new Senior Applications Engineer? In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping us deliver innovative battery energy storage solutions to customers around the world. You’ll report to Director of Applications, Americas in our engineering department, and contribute your expertise to exciting projects, and help us set new standards for quality and sustainability in the industry.

Be the technical liaison to customers and partners, and an expert resource for general product specifications and value engineering discussions.
Analyze RFPs and other customer documents to determine project scope, schedule, specifications, risk, and technical requirements.
Develop size models and conceptual drawings sets (electrical single-line diagrams, site layouts, etc.).
Prepare technical documentation for proposals and coordinate the bid package preparation with other departments.
Work closely with sales staff, engineering, and procurement to ensure complete and shared project understanding and priorities.
Conduct technical presentations and provide clarifications to customers and other departments.
Execute and negotiate technical exhibits for equipment supply and service contracts.
Assess requirements and methodologies for integrating BESS systems into new and existing renewable projects.
Contribute to the product development cycle by issuing market sensing summaries after engaging with industry stakeholders.
Team up with talented colleagues and partners to achieve project goals.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical)
Minimum 5 years of direct Applications and/or Systems Engineering experience working in the battery energy storage system (BESS) industry energy storage integrator, consulting firm, developer, and/or OEM
Proficient in AutoCAD or related software
Exceptional technical aptitude including the ability to read and fully understand engineering schematics, technical advisory reports, and technology reviews
Solid understanding of UL regulatory standards related to energy storage and grid interactive (GFL/GFM) inverters.
Understanding of BESS Energy Management System communications architectures
Global perspective and awareness, and direct experience working across diverse cultures in a multinational company is required
An excellent time manager, able to balance multiple projects and prioritize a broad variety of issues, initiatives, and objectives concurrently
