Position Purpose

As a Sales Representative at Novartis, you will advise healthcare professionals on our product portfolio and services through both digital and in-person channels. By understanding the needs of your customers, you will help expand scientific knowledge, raise disease awareness, and ultimately contribute to improving patient care and treatment outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide expert advice and information on the Novartis product portfolio and services by delivering accurate, relevant, and authorized data and key messages — to the right customer, at the right time, through the right channel — to support informed decision‑making and enhance patient outcomes in an ethical manner.

  • Engage effectively with customers, adapting communication styles, messages, and channels to meet customer and patient needs and create an exceptional customer experience.

  • Regularly analyze all available data sources and document customer insights in the appropriate systems to better personalize future interactions and content.

  • Utilize omnichannel engagement strategies, leveraging customer preferences to maximize impact for patients, customers, and the business.

  • Take full responsibility for territory and center management, using data‑driven insights to develop, prioritize, and adapt territory, account, and customer engagement plans.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with colleagues in Sales, Medical, and Key Account Management to implement effective customer interaction strategies.

  • Share customer insights continuously to support the development of product‑ and indication‑related content, campaigns, and engagement strategies. Work closely with local and cross‑functional teams to ensure maximum impact for Novartis customers.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, therapeutic areas, clinical studies, competitors, and market dynamics, focusing on key customer opportunities.


Qualifications

Education & Knowledge


  • Degree in a scientific discipline or qualification as a certified pharmaceutical representative, PTA, MTA, BTA, or CTA

  • Certification in accordance with §75 of the German Medicines Act


Languages


  • Excellent written and spoken German and English


Experience & Competencies


  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Resilient, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and development

  • Proven experience in customer and account management with a focus on customer and patient needs

  • Strong analytical thinking and business insight, with the ability to interpret data and use digital tools to enhance patient outcomes

  • Experience in omnichannel customer engagement and platform use

  • Excellent collaboration skills across functions and teams (internal and external)

  • Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented approach to work
