Professorship (W2) for Business Informatics with a focus on software development

Join the faculty of Business and Economics at Hochschule Ansbach – University of Applied Sciences. The position commences as soon as possible and is advertised under reference no. 2025-60-WIF.

Responsibilities

• Representation of the subject area in teaching and applied research
• Specialist teaching of the fundamentals of business informatics (programming, databases, algorithms and data structures) and advanced approaches to software development (e.g. AI in software development, agile methods, DevOps)
• Teaching of other topics such as applied artificial intelligence and machine learning in all semesters of the business informatics degree program and, where appropriate, in other degree programs
• Research and development activities
• Proactive acquisition of third‑party funding through research and transfer activities
• Practice‑oriented teaching in the subject areas – both in German and in English – and the use of digital formats (e‑learning, blended learning)
• Content‑specific and strategic further development of the subject areas with a special focus on digitisation
• Teaching the fundamental subjects and the subject area of appointment for similar teaching fields
• High‑quality supervision of practical assignments, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses as well as doctorates
• Involvement in setting up new international partnerships and maintaining existing ones
• Active and interdisciplinary involvement in administering academic affairs

Qualifications

• Preferably an academic university degree in the field of business informatics, informatics or a related field (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees)
• Above‑average professional and academic qualifications in the field of business informatics with a focus on software engineering
• Relevant professional experience in the implementation of software development projects
• Very good German and English proficiency and the willingness to teach in both languages
• Enthusiasm for passing on your practical experience in teaching and applied research to our students as future academics
