The Role

• Module responsibility and teaching of Gisma Bachelor and Master programmes as well as examination, assessments, and student supervision.
• Active participation in programme development and quality assurance.
• Conception, creation and adaptation of teaching and learning materials.
• Initiate, expand and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research.
• Participation in accreditation procedures as needed.
• Active participation in academic administration and committee work.
• Further development of a personal research profile, publication of results, and other public dissemination activities.
• Participation in student recruitment events.

Your profile

• All requirements according to Section 42 ff of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). See the link: §42 ff. BbgHG.
• Completed university studies.
• Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or outstanding scientific publications.
• Qualified professional experience in the field of the professorship, at least three years, two of them outside a university after obtaining a master’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in university classrooms, with blended and online approaches; excellent teaching evaluations.
• High affinity for digitalisation topics.
• Strong expertise in core areas of mathematics, including computer‑science‑relevant topics such as discrete mathematics, linear algebra, calculus, statistics, and probability.
• Comfortable using essential computational tools: simple scripting in Python, basic command‑line/terminal operations, version control with Git, and preparing scholarly documents in LaTeX.
• Internationally experienced and fluent in English for teaching and research purposes.
• Demonstrated significant publications.
• Research experience, ideally including acquisition of funding.
• Will provide new innovative directions for research and teaching.
• Experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes.
