Your mission
- You drive product and process quality by defining CTQs/CTPs per value stream and implementing risk-based control plans aligned with FMEA priorities (severity/occurrence/detection).
- You own quality documentation (SOPs, work instructions, batch records, CoAs), manage deviations and change controls to keep records audit-ready.
- You implement SPC and capability studies (Cp/Cpk) with real-time dashboards with limits and alarms, and monitor process performance.
- You analyze problems using 5-Why, Ishikawa, and DOE where needed and implement robust CAPAs with clear owners, deadlines and effectiveness checks.
- You handle customer complaints, lead structured 8D investigations and deliver data-backed responses.
- You coach operators/technicians on quality-critical steps, sampling and accurate data entry, and you sustain improvements.
- You follow up on quality readiness checklists and run controlled trials to establish capability baselines before scale-up and full release.
Your profile
- You have 3+ years of experience in quality engineering within automotive, battery, chemical, materials, or related process industries; startup or scale-up experience is a plus.
- You have a solid knowledge of ISO 9001 and are familiar with IATF 16949 and the automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans) that support risk-based control plans and capability baselines.
- You have built and maintained control plans and PFMEAs, executed CAPAs end-to-end, and used SPC/Cp/Cpk to keep processes in control.
- You are hands‑on with documentation control and you can work with LIMS to keep records audit-ready.
- Preferred experience includes hazardous materials processes, laboratory quality testing, and PLM/MES/LIMS/ERP integrations.
- You are proactive and resilient, enjoy working in a dynamic, evolving environment and show high ownership.
- You are proficient in German and English and collaborate well with operations, engineers, suppliers, and automotive customers.

About us
cylib is a research‑based German scaleup for holistic battery recycling – starting from discharging to recovery of all components of the lithium battery – that was founded in Aachen in 2022 by three visionary founders, including a female CEO.
Our process
The cylib process offers a complete end‑to‑end process from battery pack to green battery material by employing a combination of mechanical and thermal pre‑treatments and an innovative water‑based lithium and graphite recovery. Unlike incumbents, cylib can therefore recover battery materials such as lithium, graphite or manganese. The process was developed over several years of research at the renown RWTH Aachen University and offers an efficient, resource‑ and climate friendly recovery of all battery materials from end‑of‑life batteries.
cylib's technology enables the recovery of all battery components regardless of whether it is an end‑of‑life battery or not. Recovery of green secondary raw materials from the cylib process enables the realization of the true Circular Economy on the European market.
