Are you passionate about procurement? As our new Procurement Supervisor, you will be supervising a small team of Procurement Officers and processing procurement and purchasing files to ensure that the right goods and services are procured in a compliant and cost-effective manner. You will be joining a team of military and civilians who support the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Operational Support Hub Europe (OSHE), based in Köln.

What does a typical week look like?
  • Checking and validating the work completed by your Procurement Officers.
  • Producing compliant and well-organised procurement files.
  • Checking that the budget funds from the requesting departments are sufficient to cover the cost of their requested purchases.
  • Obtaining quotes for goods and services and ensuring that the bidders are treated in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Advising about best value and making recommendations to your stakeholders (the requesting department).
  • Maintaining accurate electronic records of procurement decisions.

Weekly working hours: 38.5 hours (full-time, Monday to Friday)

Start Salary (step 1, gross): €3,750.45 EUR per month

The salary scale has a total of eight (8) incremental steps which you can grow into over a fixed period. Further information about this can be provided on request.

Salary (end step, gross): €5,129.80 EUR per month

Location: Luftwaffenkaserne Wahn, Köln, Germany

Positions to be filled: 1 (candidate pool will be created from this process, to be considered for similar future positions)

  1. You must be a citizen of a current NATO member country. The reason for this is detailed in point two, below;
  2. You must be willing to undergo a background investigation to obtain and maintain a valid security clearance certificate from your own NATO member country (if required for the specific position) and subsequently to obtain and maintain a NATO security clearance.
  3. If your country of citizenship has compulsory military service (conscription) for its citizens, you must have completed your compulsory military service (conscription) as per your country of citizenship’s legislation. If your country of citizenship does not have compulsory military service (conscription) for its citizens, this requirement is not relevant for you.
  4. You must be willing to provide the required documentation to obtain a locally conducted ‘reliability status’.
  5. You must be able to obtain and maintain a criminal record check (required as part of the 'reliability status' process)

Operational Requirements
  • Hours of work may vary from time to time,
  • Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position in Germany or Canada and maintain the relevant certification throughout the duration of employment.
Organisational Requirements
  • For operational or unforeseen business reasons, employees must be willing and able to work from home, if requested to do so by their supervisor/manager. However, this position is based at the office and it is not a remote position.
