Position : Process Safety Engineer (m / w / d)

Location : Cologne, Germany

Contract : 12 months (with potential for extension or rollover to client)

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct hazard analyses such as HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, What-IF, FMEA, and SIL assessments.
  • Lead discussions and workshops to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate design options to enhance safety while achieving project goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, operations, and safety teams for alignment.
  • Provide guidance on process safety standards and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process safety engineering, especially in petrochemical or related industries in Germany.
  • Strong knowledge of Seveso regulations, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and implement change.
  • Proficiency in German and English (mandatory).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work in-office at least three days per week.
