Partner Growth Manager, Affiliate Marketing (German Market)
LOCATION:
The Partner Growth Manager (German) is a remote, work‑from‑home position, as are all positions at Acceleration Partners. Candidates need to reside in the UK or Germany. Some travel is required for client meetings, internal meetings, conferences, etc. Candidates must hold a valid passport, be able to travel internationally and speak fluent German.
THE ROLE:
Acceleration Partners is accepting applications for an exciting new role that will sit in our Strategic Territory Growth department. We are seeking an experienced Strategic Partnership Development Manager with business development/account management experience to support the growth of this new department and have a key focus in the German affiliate space. This person will join client calls to pitch high‑value opportunities, provide strategic insights, progress towards goals and proactively manage the top 10 partners for their respective clients. A “how‑not‑if” mentality, action‑oriented approach and effective questioning will be critical in this role.
TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Revenue:
- Publisher Performance: Contributes to overall revenue goal for the Growth & Partnerships department and the growth of managed clients through the creation of high‑potential relationships and optimization of publishers (including paid placements, commission increases and review products).
- Performance and Placement Trackers: Consistently updates the department relationship tracker with details on the partnerships they facilitate; updates the client‑approved placement tracker.
- Subject Matter Expert in Client Verticals and Partner Relationships: Is a trusted and knowledgeable resource and an expert in verticals of managed clients; proactively leads conversations to share expertise across the organization.
Business Development and Publisher Relationships:
- Proactive Research: Identifies new, high‑quality partnerships and/or areas of opportunity based on client needs, industry evolution and SimilarWeb.
- Written and Verbal Communication: Comfortable with cold emailing; communications are clear, informative and engaging. Asks relevant questions when speaking to publishers to vet opportunities. Manages day‑to‑day communication with top publishers in program (owning paid placements and optimization). Communication is managed independently 95% of the time.
- Initiative: Proven track record of identifying and executing opportunities and optimization across programs to drive revenue growth.
Top 10 Partner Management
- Relationship management: Optimizes opportunities with top publishers on behalf of the client; views themselves as an extension of the client’s business and develops long‑lasting relationships with partners.
- Budget management: Identifies opportunities that drive client growth while maintaining a healthy return on investment.
- Time management: Possesses exceptional calendar and time‑management skills.
Strategy and Execution:
- Alignment to Client Strategy and Goals: Participates in engagement kickoff calls with clients and ongoing calls as needed; asks appropriate questions and understands client goals and KPIs.
- Creation and Ongoing Ownership of Strategy: Creates a plan for paid placement initiatives that support the client’s program, including expected timelines for execution. Executes paid placement strategy, negotiates terms, sets up campaigns, updates commissions and coordinates communication with partners. Executes recruitment strategy, builds lists, prepares outreach templates and trackers. Manages 95% of strategy without regular assistance from a manager.
- Strategy Pivots: Adapts to change and pivots strategies to reach client goals; sets expectations and projects new goals when they are not achievable. Communicates and pushes back when client goals are unrealistic without damaging relationships.
Pitching Opportunities:
- Persuasiveness: Consistently demonstrates intellectual curiosity; challenges the status quo, pitches innovative or out‑of‑box opportunities; showcases the “why” and benefits for the partnership with data or relevant metrics.
- Publisher Vertical and Client Knowledge: Possesses a high level of knowledge across all publisher verticals; has a proven track record of addressing client questions and speaking to areas of opportunity with keen understanding of clients and competitors.
- Tenacity: Investigates reasons behind rejections; pushes back and overcomes objections; provides suggestions or alternatives based on thorough knowledge of publishers and portfolio.

- Strong aptitude for identifying digital strategies based on publisher business models, specifically in the German market.
- Quickly develops relationships that can recruit brand‑to‑brand and unique partners.

- Proven knowledge and understanding of performance and acquisition marketing.
- History of managing partnerships that require moving complex decisions through organizations successfully.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of the digital German market.
- 4+ years of business development or relevant work experience (including account management, contract negotiations, marketing).
- Experience in a sales or account management role with enterprise clients.
- Proven track record of reaching and exceeding goals.
- Experience in performance marketing (particularly affiliate marketing) industry preferred.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with ability to push back without damaging relationships; detail‑oriented and persuasive.
- Proven record of success in a goal‑oriented, highly accountable, fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable leading client‑facing presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, natural communicator and influencer.
- Work‑from‑home and corporate office experience, a plus.
