Mechanical Piping Field Engineer - Germany,Leipzig - 6 Month Contract

Are you aMechanical Piping Field Engineer looking for your next contract role? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our valued client inLeipzig on an initial 6 month contract.

Experienced at delivering highly efficient projects for state-of-the-art Data Centres, Pharma, Semi- Conductor infrastructures around the world, our client is a global leader in design, engineering and delivery of facilities for high tech industries. This is your chance to join an innovative, market leading data centre company as their newest Mechanical Piping Field Engineer. Responsibilities:
  • Ensure full compliance with design principles, quality requirements, and contractual obligations for all assigned piping and mechanical works
  • Provide hands-on technical support to the piping supervisor and superintendent, especially regarding quality-related concerns
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to deliver ad hoc solutions, piping adjustments, and field instructions—including isometric drawing revisions
  • Conduct on-site verifications to support back-office design teams (e.g. measurements, point cloud data validation)
  • Coordinate across various site teams including design, QA/QC, and subcontractors to ensure alignment
  • Lead and monitor the implementation of design changes and provide input during design reviews
  • Conduct inspections and walkthroughs to validate installation against design standards and project procedures (e.g. P&ID verification)
  • Support scheduling and project reporting by communicating progress and completed work
  • Interpret and review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents for feasibility and accuracy
  • Clarify technical documentation to aid construction and resolve field queries
  • Deliver tasks on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with contractual requirements
Requirements:
  • Engineering qualification in Mechanical/Piping disciplines (ENG)
  • Proven on-site experience with large, complex projects and systems
  • Strong understanding of large-capacity mechanical/piping systems: hot water, chilled water, heat recovery, process cooling, and plumbing
  • German language fluency required; English proficiency preferred
  • Ability to work extended hours and adapt to a fast-paced field environment
