As a Manufacturing Engineer Central (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in shaping robust series production processes while ensuring all qualitative, financial, technical, and timeline requirements are met. In this position, you will lead and coordinate cross‑functional projects aimed at developing and industrializing manufacturing solutions that enable stable, efficient, and scalable production.

You will actively contribute your manufacturing engineering expertise to the product innovation process, ensuring manufacturing suitability is embedded early in the design phase. By driving the development of new production equipment and technologies, you will help secure cost‑effective, high‑quality manufacturing setups that support long‑term operational success.

The position will be based in our EMEA Headquarters location in Hanover, Germany.

What you will do
  • Driving technical project execution by managing subprojects across timing, budget, and technical scope, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives.
  • Conducting manufacturing feasibility analyses (DFA/DFM) and PFMEA for new products to guarantee robust and cost‑effective designs.
  • Developing detailed specifications for manufacturing equipment and providing strategic recommendations for procurement decisions.
  • Reviewing CAD drawings and models to ensure compliance with customer‑specific requirements and Clarios standards.
  • Ensuring full adherence to specifications (SOW) throughout all project phases.
  • Leading supplier selection and make‑or‑buy decisions, securing optimal cost‑benefit outcomes and technical fit.
  • Managing advanced manufacturing subprojects across all EMEA plants, driving innovation and operational excellence.
  • Coordinating installation and commissioning of machines, including layout integration, supplier communication, machine acceptance, documentation review, and validation builds.
  • Providing technical support to internal project teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Selecting, informing, and motivating project team members, promoting engagement and performance.
  • Driving creation and validation of Bill‑of‑Material, drawings and documentation.
What makes you a good fit
  • Degree as Engineer or Technician in Mechanics, Automotive, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the automotive industry or high‑volume production environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Quality Management principles, including Statistical Process Control and Process Capability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Experience with CAD tools for reviewing and validating technical drawings and models.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables.
  • Understanding of legal requirements and CE specifications relevant to manufacturing and equipment compliance.
  • Advanced English and German language skills, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Knowledge in controls and automation systems is a plus.
