Qualifikationen

Commutator Studios is a German based start-up that creates quantum developer tools to improve the performance of quantum applications on real quantum hardware. We have recently closed a pre seed round have prestigious investors including backtrace capital, Preston Werner Ventures and QAI Ventures.

Tasks

In this role, you will be responsible for the whole gamut of developing, deploying and operating ML models to predict quantum computation error rates and optimizing quantum applications to minimize their impact.

You will work directly with the CTO and collaborate with him on the development of our core intellectual property. Your responsibilities will be centered around:

  • Collecting and feature engineering of quantum error data
  • Selecting and training of the right ML model for quantum error prediction and optimization
  • Deploying, operating and monitoring of ML models
  • Collaborating with the product team
  • Evolving our metrics for error impact and performance improvement
Requirements

We are looking for a machine learning engineer with multiple years of industrial experience. While you will be collaboarting closely with the quantum algorithms and product teams, you will be expected to take ownership and be able to make independent decisions in your area.

From successful candidates, we expect

  • Excellent Python programming
  • Broad knowledge of ML models, e.g. Bayesian, neural networks, decision trees, etc.
  • Data Engineering experience
  • Basic ML OPS expereince, e.g. ML-Flow, DVC etc.
  • Experience developing REST APIs

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

  • Apache Spark
  • AWS, especially Athena
  • GCP, especially BigQuery, Cloud Dataproc
  • TypeScript
  • Any quantum mechanics or quantum computing
