To strengthen our team, we are looking for a

IT system administrator / computer scientist (m / f / d)

with a focus on Windows administration, virtualization and first and second level support

Your tasks

• Administration and maintenance of Windows servers and clients including installation, configuration and updates
• Monitoring and optimization of system performance as well as ensuring high availability and data security
• User and rights management in Active Directory, maintenance of group policies (GPOs)
• Setup and support of virtualization environments (VMware and HyperV)
• Error analysis and troubleshooting as part of incident and problem management
• Planning and implementation of backup and recovery processes
• Technical support for end users (first & second level) and interface to IT security
• Documentation of system environments, processes and changes
• Active participation in IT projects to further develop the infrastructure and standardize IT processes

Further areas of application

• Administration and operation of Windows client systems (roll-out, updates, policies, troubleshooting)
• Support for Windows server services (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, file services)
• Administration of Microsoft Exchange (on-prem or hybrid)
• Basic administration of SQL servers (backup / restore, performance basics, rights management)
• Support with firewall issues (VPN, NAT, rules, log analysis)
• Monitoring, incident / problem management and change implementations

What you bring with you

• Completed IT training (e.g. IT specialist for system integration) or comparable degree; career changers with relevant experience also welcome
• Sound knowledge in the administration of Windows servers (2019 / 2022)
• Confident handling of Active Directory, group policies and Windows clients (Windows10 / 11)
• Experience in the area of virtualization (VMware, HyperV)
• Knowledge of backup and recovery management
• Basic understanding of IT security (firewalls, virus protection, access concepts)
• Analytical thinking and solution-oriented way of working
• Good communication skills and service-oriented interaction with users
• Initiative, ability to work in a team and structured way of working
• Experience with Exchange, SQL servers
• Good written and spoken German skills

Nice-to-have

• Knowledge of PowerShell, automation, C# or PHP
• Experience in the area of Azure / M365 (e.g. Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online)
• Understanding of security baselines, hardening, MFA / conditional access
