IT Security Specialist – Information Security Staff Unit (m/f/d)

Permanent full‑time position starting 01.03.2026.

MDCC Magdeburg‑City‑Com GmbH is the regional telecommunications provider in the state capital Magdeburg and the neighboring regions. MDCC offers internet, telephone and TV services to around 100,000 households. Over the past 28 years, MDCC has developed into an important commercial enterprise in Magdeburg.

We are creating a new "Information Security" staff position for the strategic development of our security organization. This position is of central importance for the coordination and implementation of all security‑related topics in the company. The task includes setting up the staff unit and independently organizing the processing of measures. You will work closely with the specialist departments and support them with implementation.

Your tasks

• Establishment and independent coordination of the information security staff unit
• Analysis and preparation of legal requirements, standards and external requirements for the company
• Development and maintenance of guidelines, work instructions and processes
• Prioritization and management of security topics (major projects, ad hoc topics, backlog)
• Identification of risks, requirements and deficiencies and derivation of measures
• Conducting and accompanying audits and monitoring relevant systems
• Preparation of reports and communication of security‑related topics to various levels
• Advising the specialist areas and supporting the implementation of security measures
• Conducting training and awareness measures and providing support with IT risk analyses and IT emergency management
• Strategic further development of the security organization and monitoring of trends and new requirements in the area of security

Your profile

• Degree in computer science, IT security, security management or comparable qualification
• At least 3 years of experience (operational and/or strategic) in the field of IT security or IT infrastructure with a security focus
• Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements (IT‑SiG, NIS2, BSI, ISO 27001)
• Good understanding of security tools, networks, operating systems, Active Directory, virtualization, cloud solutions
• High degree of personal responsibility, assertiveness and strong communication skills
• Business fluent German and very good English skills
