HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAM COORDINATOR
PART-TIME, $30.70-$36.13/HOUR

SCOPE OF WORK: Provides administrative and program coordination of the Health Sciences Program. This position reports directly to the Department Chair of Health Sciences and Services at White Mountains Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assists the Department Chair with faculty recruitment, orientation, assignment, and evaluation of adjunct instructors and teaching accountabilities within the Health Sciences Program.
  • Assists the Department Chair with student advising and student retention efforts.
  • Assists with the development of course schedules and alternative methods of delivery.
  • Participates in student recruitment activities such as college open houses and student orientations.
  • Oversees the program review, accreditation, and other assessment initiatives for the Health Sciences Program.
  • Maintains program/course documents and revises documentation as needed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the procurement process for materials, equipment, etc.
  • Oversees the facilitation and monitoring of students at clinical/internship sites.
  • Works with the program advisory committee and relevant external stakeholders and provides occasional external representation as needed.
  • Provides input to the Department Chair regarding budget preparation.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or technical institute with major study in biological science, nursing, allied health, or closely related field.

Experience: Five years of experience working in biological science, nursing, allied health, or closely related field.

OR

Education: Master’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in biological science, nursing, allied health, or closely related field.

Experience: Four years of experience in biological science, nursing, allied health, or closely related field.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver's license or access to transportation.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the subject matter as it relates to the course of instruction, teaching methods and materials, and curriculum development, and course/program evaluation. Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used for instruction within the program area. Knowledge of educational standards and procedures. Ability to work with and secure the cooperation of others. Ability to maintain comprehensive records of the progress and development of the individual student. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and as a member of academic department/team. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality, as appropriate. Ability to exercise professional judgment and proper decision-making. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
