PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Lead the finance function for BBC Studios Germany, where creativity meets strategy. From hit entertainment formats like Das 1% Quiz to acclaimed co-productions like Ghosts, you’ll support dynamic content creation through financial leadership, planning, and compliance. Be the strategic partner driving profitability across a diverse slate of local and international productions.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning aligned with production cycles and strategy.
- Provide financial analysis and modelling to support decision-making and profitability across productions.
- Manage production and operational cash flow, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Advise creative and operational teams on project viability, funding, and commercial terms.
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with German regulations, and accurate reporting.
- Oversee payroll operations and statutory filings, collaborating with external advisors and Finance Central.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, driving continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong command of SAP or other ERP systems, with proven experience in financial operations.
- Deep expertise in German GAAP, local tax regulations, and media-sector production accounting.
- Professional accountancy qualification and around 10 years’ experience in commercial finance.
- Skilled in statutory accounts, tax filings, audits, and multi-entity financial planning.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
- Commercially astute, proactive, and able to deliver high-quality work under pressure.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills across regional and global finance teams.
