Responsibilities

Head of Business Development – Germany (m/w/d)

Location: Germany – hybrid, ideally Düsseldorf or Frankfurt region

Hybrid work: Combination of remote and office-based work with regular domestic travel

Salary: €110,000–€130,000 per annum plus bonus/commission plus company car

Main duties
  • Lead business development and commercial growth in Germany by identifying new opportunities, expanding key accounts, and strengthening strategic partnerships.
The role
  • Drive commercial and market expansion strategies across retail, banking, and partner channels.
  • Build and manage senior-level relationships within major enterprise accounts and influencers.
  • Develop new business across targeted segments such as regional retail chains, petrol stations, and CIT/channel partners.
  • Lead and coach a small sales team, ensuring strong performance and accountability.
  • Manage complex sales cycles involving hardware, software, and managed services.
  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and customer success.
  • Track KPIs, pipeline, market trends, and competitor activity, providing structured reporting.
  • Strengthen market credibility and support the adoption of front- and back-office automation solutions.
Candidate's Profile
  • Proven experience in business development or sales leadership in retail technology, automation, payments, banking tech, or similar B2B solution environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the German retail and/or banking landscape with experience managing enterprise or channel relationships.
  • Track record of winning complex deals, influencing C-level stakeholders, and delivering measurable sales results.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and highly organised; able to work autonomously and drive initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with credibility at senior and operational levels.
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages welcome.
  • W to travel frequently across Germany; ideally based in Munich, Düsseldorf, or Frankfurt.
Base salary

€110,000–€130,000 per annum plus performance bonus (approx. 30%) plus company car, mobile, and flexible remote work.
