Your mission

To complement our Mission Operations team, we are looking for a Ground Operations Engineer, to support Operations and Operations Preparation for our spacecraft constellation.

As part of an International and ambitious team, you will be involved in the tasks below.

  • Lead the definition, development, integration and validation of different elements of the ground segment, including:
    • Mission Control System (MCS)
    • Mission Database
    • Monitoring and Alerting systems
    • Security related elements
    • Operational repositories
  • Lead the maintenance and the evolution of existing ground segment elements;
  • Monitor the ground segment elements to assess health and performances on a periodic basis;
  • Participate to the anomaly detection, investigation and troubleshooting of the ground segment elements;
  • Generate and maintain ground segment operational documentation and procedures;
  • Support integration and maintenance of satellite simulators (satellite digital twin and flatsat);
  • Contribute to the development, validation and maintenance of operational tools and processes to enhance automation, efficiency and reliability of operations;
  • Interface with ground segment external providers for interfaces implementation and service outage troubleshooting;
  • Participate in system validation campaigns, simulations, and rehearsals for operational readiness;

Your profile

Important: Please only apply if you have a valid working permit in Germany (or the EU)

  • Your education: a university degree or equivalent education in Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • Your experience: 5+ years of experience in end-to-end ground segment systems for spacecraft operations;
  • Languages: fluency in English, both in speech and writing;
  • Your mindset: Ability to work independently as well as in a Team, with a proactive and analytical mindset;
  • What we consider a plus:
    • Understanding of development and maintenance of ground infrastructure and/or software systems;
    • Experience in software development, ideally in Python language;
    • Knowledge of ground networks, and mission control infrastructure;
    • Practical experience in the validation of ground systems, preferably mission control systems;
    • Experience in Git version control;
    • Familiarity with Linux environments;

Familiarity with ground segment monitoring, telemetry handling, mission readiness testing and validation campaigns;
