What do you contribute?
  • You will take on a dual role: as Global Head of Manufacturing for our locomotives and passenger coaches business, and as Plant Manager of our growing factory in Munich‑Allach, where we are currently creating hundreds of new jobs.
  • As Global Head of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for the entire manufacturing value chain across Germany and India.
  • You will manage the business with an entrepreneurial mindset, steering performance according to defined KPIs and contributing to the development of future KPIs.
  • Furthermore, you will oversee international technology transfers to meet localization requirements in new projects.
  • As Site and Plant Manager in Munich‑Allach (c. 1,800 employees), you will apply your entrepreneurial expertise and assume full profit and loss responsibility. In addition to key financial indicators such as sales, profit, and cash flow, you will manage all critical operational metrics, including EHS, quality assurance, productivity, and delivery reliability.
  • You will lead and continuously improve the production of our rolling stock portfolio – c. 400 locomotives per year + passenger coaches.
  • While consistently applying modern management, lean, and production principles—such as self‑organization, intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration, empowerment, and OKRs—you will foster an innovative mindset to continuously adapt and enhance production processes.
  • Additionally, you will drive productivity through ongoing process optimization and increased automation, digitalization, and AI implementation across the entire value chain.
  • You will strengthen cooperation with key partners, including internal business units, engineering, development, purchasing, customers, suppliers, and the works council—always prioritizing the success of the business.
  • As we expand our passenger coaches business, you will be part of the team transforming it from a project‑based setup into a product‑based manufacturing business, in close collaboration with engineering.
What do you bring along?
  • You hold a university degree (master's/diploma) in an engineering discipline.
  • Moreover, you have long‑term professional experience in various functions, including the role of Plant Manager or Production Manager. Experience at different hierarchical levels in manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Having a background in a highly automated and digitalized production environment is an advantage.
  • You are well versed in manufacturing principles such as lean and value flow, value stream, flow of operations, continuous improvement, productivity and how it applies when building a customizable large‑scale product – based on experience in project and small serial production.
  • You have a strong understanding of strategy and customers, ideally backed up by several years of consulting experience and change management in a factory environment.
  • Also, you impress us with experience in identifying and implementing AI Initiatives across the manufacturing value chain as well as know‑how about automation and robotics in production processes.
  • You have very good German and English skills.
