Global Director Legal (Industrial | Life Science & Environment) (m/f/d)
Join MANN+HUMMEL as our Global Director Legal for the Industrial and LS&E divisions. You will serve as the primary legal advisor to all stakeholders, provide operational legal support across a wide range of matters, and lead strategic legal initiatives.
Job Description
- Act as primary legal advisor to all stakeholders in the business unit Industrial and the LS&E division.
- Provide operational legal support across a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, antitrust and competition law issues, and general legal matters in various areas of law.
- Develop and implement comprehensive legal frameworks to support business objectives and risk management.
- Prepare and negotiate all types of national and international contracts with customers and suppliers, such as complex supply‑and‑installation contracts, EPC/subcontracts, and operating and maintenance agreements.
- Advise and support the supply chain in the preparation and handling of claims.
- Work closely with specialist departments and international teams to ensure legal compliance of company activities.
- Coordinate and supervise external law firms and legal costs; manage legal disputes, including developing litigation strategies.
- Monitor effective internal control processes and ensure compliance with local and global reporting requirements.
- Lead and promote the employees allocated to this business segment; establish strategic legal support in the Industrial business unit and the LS&E division to strengthen cooperation with operating business.
Your Profile
- Education: Fully qualified lawyer with at least ten years of professional experience in a legal department of a multinational company or in an internationally respected law firm.
- Work experience: Experience in the machinery and (plant) construction industry.
- Skills:
- Relevant experience in project business and public tenders.
- Experience in leveraging external counsel to provide efficient critical legal support.
- Sound judgement and the ability to present complex issues precisely and comprehensibly.
- Language skills: High proficiency in verbal and written German and English. Other languages are an advantage.
- Personality:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with intercultural sensitivity.
- Proactive approach, collaborative nature, and ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Independent decision‑making and willingness to travel worldwide.
