Founding Engineer - Mobile Lead

About the position

You will work closely together with the founding team and contribute to the direction of the tech development. YOUth is the early stage startup and you will be expected to take initiative and full ownership of important projects for the company. As a Senior developer, you would have the opportunity to shape the vision for the products and make decisions on the technologies to use.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of mobile applications using Flutter.
• Bring and reinforce best practices for code quality, software testing and architecture.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and code reviews.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mobile app development, with 2 years as Senior Mobile Engineer.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Full understanding of the Flutter framework and Dart programming language.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile.
• Experience with automated tests for Flutter/Dart packages and release procedures for iOS and Android.
• Experience developing with strong focus on automated CI/CD.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, banking).
  • Experience with native mobile application development.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
  • Experience with Firebase, and associated tools like Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Knowledge of other mobile frameworks and technologies.

  This is not a normal Mobile Lead role. You will be part of the early founding team of a VC backed startup. You will have high degrees of freedom, responsibilities, leadership opportunities and potential to grow the company from pre‑seed to IPO. You should be highly energized and motivated by the vision and having an impact in healthcare and deeply believe in it. You should be in for the long term and motivated by the high potential of the opportunity but also be aware and comfortable of the high risks it entails. We are trying to redefine how preventive screenings work. It’s a very complex topic which requires hard work to make it happen. You need to fully believe in it and be aware of what does it take to achieve it. We strive for the great and forget good enough.

  Compensation

  As an early stage startup, we cannot compete with tech giants in terms of salary. But we can definitely offer more in terms of fast‑growth, fast‑paced environment, responsibility, equity upside, vision.   Salary: $5‑8k starting monthly salary + significant early stage startup equity package as a founding engineer. Salary of course scale and evolves as the company grows. Equity in a fast‑growing startup with significant traction.
