As an experienced, international Field Application Engineer (FAE) you will be accountable for working directly with customers, providing and coordinating direct technical guidance, consulting and support relating to the use of Digi’s embedded products, wireless products and Cloud based Device Management system (Digi Remote Manager and Cloud Services) in customer designs. The position is an integral part of the sales strategy, participating in the identification and qualification of new sales opportunities. The geographical focus will be the DACH region in EMEA. The position will be based in Home office in Germany or neighboring countries.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical liaison with the customer during the development phase
• Assist in driving revenue, as well as development of relationships with technical stakeholders at the customer
• Provide customer training programs, and multi-level technical sales presentations as needed
• Work closely with our worldwide based engineering and product management teams

Primary Job Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Experience in embedded systems, System-on-Chip (SOC) and System-on-Module (SOM); experience in embedded hardware development is a plus
• Strong knowledge in embedded operating systems like Linux (Yocto); RTOS experience is a plus
• Strong wireless expertise, especially with Wi-Fi and ZigBee; cellular experience is a plus
• Knowledgeable in various networking (PAN / LAN / WAN) principles, topologies and protocols
• Programming knowledge and experience in C / C++, Python and other languages is a plus
• Familiarity with modern cloud technologies
• Expertise in embedded cybersecurity concepts and technologies
• Strong presentation skills and ability to present technical content
• Excellent time management skills
• Good organizational capabilities
• Proven problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Fluent in German and English languages
