About the team and the role

Join eBay’s EMEA Litigation team, a highly skilled group of legal professionals dedicated to managing complex disputes and regulatory matters across the region. Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of EMEA Litigation, you’ll play a key role in shaping eBay’s approach to high-impact legal challenges in the digital and e-commerce space. Based in Germany, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategic business decisions, partner with cross-functional teams, and craft innovative solutions to emerging legal issues—all within a collaborative and inclusive environment that values integrity, innovation, and work-life balance.

What you will accomplish

Lead and manage litigation, user disputes, and regulatory enforcement actions across multiple European jurisdictions from initial claim through resolution.

Develop and implement effective legal strategies in partnership with the Senior Director, Head of EMEA Litigation, and key business stakeholders.

Independently handle complex pre-litigation matters, including IP and eCommerce laws.

Manage external counsel and budgets efficiently to ensure high-quality and efficient representation.

Provide clear, practical legal guidance to product, compliance, and business teams on evolving platform and regulatory risks.

Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by sharing insights, supporting compliance initiatives, and participating in policy and training development.

What you will bring

Qualified legal professional with a law degree in Germany or another major European jurisdiction, and 5+ years of experience in litigation, regulatory, and/or consumer matters — ideally within an in-house legal team or top‑tier law firm.

Strong understanding of European Civil Procedure, IP law, and key digital/e‑commerce regulations, including the DSA and eCommerce Directive.

Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑border disputes independently while balancing legal and commercial priorities.

Excellent communication skills in English and German (B2/C1 level or higher), with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear business advice.

Practical problem‑solver with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and AI literacy.
