Founding CTO Opportunity - Climate Tech Startup - Post-Seed - Berlin - Competitive Salary + Equity
We’re partnering with a fast-moving Climate Tech startup on a mission to build solutions that address the most urgent challenge of our time the climate crisis. Backed by respected climate-focused investors and fresh off a successful seed round, we’re now looking for a CTO to lead technology and product innovation as we move into our next phase of development.

What You’ll Do
- Own and define the technical vision, architecture, and execution roadmap across all product initiatives.
- Work closely with the CEO and founding team to align technology with business and climate impact goals.
- Build and scale the engineering team, starting with key hires and evolving into a high-performing technical org.
- Establish core engineering processes including development, testing, security, deployment, and iteration cycles.
- Lead the development of our first commercial product — from MVP to production and beyond.
- Collaborate with data scientists, hardware teams (if applicable), or domain experts to integrate cutting-edge climate technologies.
- Foster a culture of sustainability-focused innovation, technical excellence, and purpose-driven problem solving.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a senior engineering leader or technical co-founder — ideally in early-stage startups or mission-driven environments.
- Strong technical breadth in full-stack or systems development, with deep understanding of scalable architecture and infrastructure.
- Bonus if you have experience with IoT, geospatial data, energy systems, hardware integration, or climate modeling tools — though not required.
- Ability to make sound build vs. buy and architectural decisions in high-ambiguity, fast-moving environments.
- Passion for solving real-world problems through technology — ideally with a strong personal connection to climate or sustainability.
- Natural leadership instincts — able to recruit, mentor, and inspire talented engineers and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong communicator who can collaborate across product, business, investors, and mission stakeholders.
