YOUR MISSION AT PLANCRAFT

As PlanCraft’s first AI Automation Engineer (f / m / d) you’ll define what automation excellence looks like across the company.

You’ll engage closely with leadership, partner with Business Operations, Product and GTM teams and turn complexity into clarity by designing human‑centered AI‑powered workflows that make our internal processes easier every single day.

This is a high‑leverage, high‑visibility role: you’ll work hands‑on & cross‑functional with leadership and functional heads to identify bottlenecks, prototype automation solutions within hours, not weeks, and shape the long‑term internal AI architecture of how PlanCraft operates.

Your Responsibilities

• Identify automation opportunities by shadowing teams and observing real workflows, no endless discovery phases.
• Define & maintain a prioritized automation backlog that maximizes impact and leverage across PlanCraft, closely aligned with leadership’s strategic priorities & company goals.
• Partner directly with leadership and teams to translate pain points into scalable, high‑ROI automation solutions.
• Build rapid prototypes using no‑code / low‑code platforms and AI APIs delivering MVPs within days or even hours rather than weeks.
• Extend automations with lightweight scripts or API integrations when no‑code tools hit their limits.
• Run short iterative 2‑week sprint cycles with direct user feedback to continuously improve solutions.
• Host automation meetups to share learnings, inspire teams and demystify AI & close alignment with other internal AI enablement streams across the company.
• Ensure scalability, documentation and maintainability of all solutions through smart design and clean architectures.

Your Profile

Must‑haves

• Strong analytical mindset for mapping and optimizing workflows end‑to‑end.
• Hands‑on experience with low‑/no‑code platforms (e.g. n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate).
• Solid understanding of APIs, webhooks and how data flows between systems (CRM, HRIS, accounting, billing, etc.).
• Basic scripting or SQL skills to extend automations beyond low‑code tools (Python or JavaScript).
• Ability to evaluate automation ROI and prioritize for leverage, not volume.
• Excellent project‑management, collaboration and communication skills especially when working with leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Curiosity and applied understanding of how modern AI (LLMs, document processing, copilots) shapes automation design.

Nice‑to‑haves

• Experience in a similar role is a strong plus.
• Business acumen to evaluate automation ROI and prioritize effectively.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and document‑processing technologies.
• Experience in fast‑paced environments and / or high‑growth start‑ups consulting or business operations optimization.
• Understanding of data security and compliance in automation.
